Autism is a disorder that occurs in individuals who lead these individuals will experience impaired social interactions, communication disorders are complex and thus require special services. Children with autism is difficult to establish communication with other people, it is difficult to establish eye contact, it is difficult to join social groups and so on.

- Autistic Disorder. Appears before the age of 3 years and indicated a disturbance in social interaction, communication and ability of play something use imaginative and the presence of stereotyped behavior in interest and activity.
- Asperger’s Syndrome. Is a developmental disorder of social interaction and the interests and activities are limited, generally do not show delays in language and speech, as well as having an average intelligence level to above average.
- Pervasive Developmental Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). Reference to the term atypical autism, PDD-NOS diagnosis applies when a child shows the overall criteria on specific diagnosis (Autism, Asperger's or Rett Syndrome)
- Rett’s Syndrome. More common in girls and is rare in boys. Had experienced normal development then occurs setback / loss of its ability, loss of functional ability of the hand that was replaced with hand movements repeated in the age range of 1-4 years
- Childhood Disintegrative Disorder (CDD). CDD showed normal development during the first 2 years of age and then suddenly lose developmental abilities have been achieved previously.
